In 1938, Carl H. Lindner Sr. had an idea to start a small dairy in Norwood, believing that he could sell milk and other dairy products more affordably by eliminating the need for delivery. Milkmen weren’t too happy, but the housewives of Cincinnati liked the price and convenience for milk and other groceries. Their most popular product, however, was ice cream. In 1982, UDF launched their Homemade brand of premium ice cream, which soon won national awards by featuring exotic flavors chock full of delicious condiments. UDF ice cream parlors are also famous for featuring rich milk shakes and malts, refreshing floats, and sundaes using only the best ingredients.
